Treating Injury from Motor Vehicle Accidents

Rain and Cars don't mix.......

Have you ever noticed that during the first rain of the season the roads becomes slick?  The oil on the roads left by cars during the dry months of the year makes the roads particularly slippery when it rains early in the year.  I know I have hydroplaned a few times due to the wet and slick roads.  In fact, many of you may not know this, but I was involved in a head on collision when I was 16 years old.  It was the middle of the afternoon and had just started to drizzle.  The woman who hit me did so because she lost control of her car while trying to make a left turn due to the slick roads, and hit me head on.  I broke my left femur in the collision and was life flighted to UCDMC.  I am so lucky that I wasn't injured more than that!

Why am I telling you this?  First of all, I want all of my patients and friends to stay smart and safe while driving and be aware of their surroundings.  But most importantly, I want you all to get medical attention as soon as an accident occurs.  Even if you don't break a bone, you most likely will have suffered an injury.  Even if you think it was a "minor" collision and you feel "fine", do me a favor and let me be the judge.  At our office we have encountered numerous patients who have waited weeks or months before receiving chiropractic care and their recovery process is much slower than the person who comes to see us right away!

If you or someone you know have been involved in a motor vehicle accident, please call the office immediately.  Our office number is 916-787-0808.  We will be able to help you through the whole process and will work with the insurance companies directly.  We also have a great personal injury attorney to refer you to if you don't want to go through the process alone.  So do yourself and your friend a favor.....if an accident occurs--call A PERFECT CURVE CHIROPRACTIC!  We look forward to helping you heal!

If you haven't already taken advantage of a "vehicle evaluation", please stop by the front desk and sign up so that I can evaluate how you sit in your car so that it is the safest for you.  We will take before and after pictures that you will get to keep.  This is just one more way to drive safely out there!
